Emily Jerger, Catholic Spiritual Director and Speaker

Emily brings her unique formation and experiences to speak on the Catholic faith. Having grown up in a family with significant challenges such as divorce and mental illness, Emily is passionate about the intersection of the Catholic faith and psychology. After obtaining a Bachelor’s degree in Religious Studies with a minor in Psychology, Emily discerned religious life and spent many years in formation, including two years under temporary vows. After leaving religious life in 2016, Emily came to understand God’s will for her and discovered she was called to marriage. She married her wonderful husband, Michael, in 2020. After graduating from Franciscan University of Steubenville with a Master’s in Catechesis and Evangelization (2021) she pursued a Certificate in Spiritual Direction through Divine Mercy University (2025). Emily is the founder of, “Into the Heart of Mercy,” with the mission of making the merciful love of God known and experienced more deeply through formation, spiritual direction, retreats, and resources. In her free time, Emily is a blog contributor, retreat speaker, and small group leader for Life Giving Wounds, a ministry to adult children of divorce. Emily lives in Wisconsin with her husband, pet schnoodle, and the sweet little boy she adopted.
