From Stable to Cross

 I fight for a crown; You gave Yours away.

I put gifts over family; You value the stray.

I wallow in comfort; You came in the cold.

I pile up treasures; You chose hay over gold.

I rage in the storm; You find peace in stars’ rays.

I crave treats that enslave; You were swaddled in rags.

I use people for gain; You love at all costs.

When I turn from Your stable, You take up Your cross.
